Fellowship of Catholic Men

Facilitator  – Deacon Mike Meismer

Sacred Heart Fellowship of Catholic Men is a spiritual organization that meets twice a month to pray together and further their spiritual growth.  The organization started here at Sacred Heart in 2008 at the urging of Bishop Gregory Aymond.  The group is affiliated with the Fellowship of Catholic Men, a national organization with local groups in most of the larger parishes in the Austin Diocese.  The aim and goal of the group, both on the local level and nationally, is for the sake of strengthening Christian masculinity, growth in faith and sanctity for male parishioners, and increasing responsible fatherhood among men of the parish.  Currently, there are seven regular members of our local group.  Membership is without cost and visitors and new members are always welcome.

Meetings consist of discussions of concerns of men, including issues with our parish, our diocese, and our church worldwide.  In addition, there is Scripture study and catechism study, and their practical applications in our lives.  Group prayer including the Liturgy of the Hours is an important part of Sacred Heart Men’s Fellowship.

Meetings:  Meetings are on the first and third Mondays of every month from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M.  They are held in the Parish Office.
